Abstract: Chemotherapy and radiation therapy are two of the major modalities used to treat cancer. Central or peripheral nervous system toxicity is common and often dose limiting. Neurotoxicity can be immediately related to the administration of therapy, particularly with chemotherapeutic agents, or toxicity may not manifest for years or even decades in the case of radiation therapy. This chapter is a comprehensive outline of chemotherapeutic agents and radiotherapeutic approaches with particular attention to newer agents and evolving toxicities. The rapid development of new anticancer drugs, particularly targeted agents and immunotherapies, is likely to lead to novel neurologic syndromes of toxicity. © 2014 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
