Article Title: Cancer- and treatment-related anemia: Clinical practice guidelines in oncology
Abstract: Cancer- and treatment-related anemia has received increasing attention, particularly because relationships between anemia and quality of life (QOL) or treatment outcomes are under investigation. This guideline recognizes the multiple etiologies of cancer- and treatment-related anemia, but specifically addresses the treatment of anemia caused by the myelosuppressive effects of chemotherapy and the anemia associated with chronic disease. It provides guidelines for the use of erythropoietic agents in patients with cancer who are receiving chemotherapy. © Journal of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network.
