Article Title: Varicella-zoster virus infection in patients with cancer
Abstract: Varicella and herpes zoster are serious complications in immunosuppressed cancer patients, especially those with hematopoietic or reticuloendothelial malignancies treated with cytotoxic chemotherapy. The clinical course is typically more severe and prolonged than in immunocompetent patients. Acyclovir has dramatically reduced the morbidity of varicella-zoster virus infection.
