Article Title: A stereospecific geminal alkylation scheme en route to CP-225, 917 and CP-263,114
Abstract: The quaternary center at C7 of a precursor to the title compounds could be introduced by stereo-specific addition of the Trost ylide to 1. This along with a photooxidation that provides the required maleic anhydride moiety are two important steps in the total synthesis of the two compounds.
