Article Title: Postoperative adjuvant therapy for resectable rectal cancer
Abstract: Postoperative combined modality therapy (pelvic radiation plus 5-fluorouracil-based chemotherapy) is the standard adjuvant treatment after surgery for T3 and/or N1-2 rectal cancer. Randomized trials show a significant improvement in local control and survival. Innovative programs using new chemotherapeutic regimens in combination with radiation are in development.
