Abstract: Children are at increased risk of intra-abdominal injury with blunt trauma seen in over 90% of cases with the spleen being the most common organ injured. Contrast CT scanning remains the investigation of choice and nonoperative management is successfully used in over 95% of patients' care when circumstances are favorable.
