Article Title: | Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia in patients with neoplastic disease |
Abstract: | Although Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PCP) is now well-known as one of the most common opportunistic infections in AIDS patients, its serious role in immunosuppressed cancer patients has received less emphasis. Clinical presentation, response to treatment, and morbidity and mortality differ between these two groups. Greater focus is needed on PCP in HIV-negative patients. |
