Article Title: Mycobacterium avium complex infections in cancer patients
Abstract: Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) infections in cancer patients have been infrequently reported. They usually present as pulmonary disease associated with cancer of the lung or as disseminated disease in patients with hairy-cell leukemia. More rapid diagnosis of MAC infection can be made with new laboratory technology, and new drugs are available for multidrug treatment.
