Article Title: Infectious complications in the criticaly ill patient with cancer
Abstract: Significant morbidity and mortality may result from infectious complications in patients with neoplastic disease. Clinical oncologists and infectious disease specialists recognize the emergent nature of these infections in the critically ill patient with cancer. It is essential to have an approach to the understanding of these infections and the circumstances in which they occur. Fever and neutropenia, pneumonia, CNS infections, and gastrointestinal infections are all discussed in this review.
