Article Title: Randomized clinical trials in soft tissue sarcoma
Abstract: In this article a summary of the best level I evidence available to help guide clinical decision making in the treatment of soft tissue sarcomas is presented. The evidence provided supports the evolution of a multidisciplinary approach to the management of sarcomas. Conventional treatment involves limb sparing surgery whenever possible with the addition of radiation therapy to reduce local recurrence. The role for adjuvant chemotherapy has not been clearly established and future efforts should be directed at improvements in adjuvant therapy as most patients who die from this disease do so from systemic and not local disease.
