Article/Chapter Title: Conservation of resources theory
Abstract: Conservation of resources (COR) theory has become one of the two main explanatory systems for the understanding of stress. COR theory posits that people have a primary motivation to build, protect, foster, and maintain object, personal, condition, and energy resources. Stress occurs when resources are threatened or lost, or when there is a failure to gain resources following resource investment. © 2007 Copyright © 2007 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
