Abstract: Gastrointestinal (GI) stromal tumor (GIST) is the most common mesenchymal tumor of the GI tract, constituting 80% of all GI mesenchymal tumors and approximately 20% of all small bowel malignancies, excluding lymphomas. This article provides a summary of recent randomized clinical trials of these tumors. © 2010 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
