(from the chapter) Although the literature has extensively discussed the concept of fatigue, little is known or understood about fatigue in patients with HIV. For example, the presence of fatigue has been associated with impaired overall quality of life and functional limitations in AIDS patients (Vogl et al., 1999; Breitbart, McDonald, Rosenfeld, Sewell, Fishman, & Rabkin, 1998; Ferrando, et al., 1998).
