Article Title: Pelvic CT in patients with esophageal cancer
Abstract: OBJECTIVE. Our aim was to determine whether pelvic CT scans reveal clinically relevant information that would change treatment in the initial or follow-up radiologic examination of patients with esophageal cancer. CONCLUSION. We observed that the addition of pelvic CT to 201 examinations of the chest and abdomen had a minimal effect on patient treatment. No pelvic examination changed the cancer stage, but three pelvic CT scans in three patients (3%) altered treatment. © American Roentgen Ray Society.
