Reviews the book, Psychological interventions in childhood chronic illness by edited by Dennis Drotar et al. (see record 2006-02692-000). This book aims to provide a comprehensive review of empirically supported research about psychological interventions in a variety of chronic illness areas, with attention paid to the clinical applications of this work. This book details relevant methodological and clinical challenges in conducting psychological intervention research and offers recommendations to improve upon the science and application of psychological interventions. Overall, this is a well-written, organized, and comprehensive review of numerous types of psychological interventions for children, adolescents, and families coping with a chronic illness.
