Article/Chapter Title: | Use of transplantation in lymphoma: Adults |
Abstract: | Lymphomas are a heterogeneous group of malignancies affecting the immune system; classically they are divided into Hodgkin lymphoma, accounting for 10% of all lymphomas, and non-Hodgkin lymphoma, accounting for the rest. Lymphomas vary tremendously in their presentation, treatment, and prognosis. Despite excellent outcomes experienced by some patients with lymphoma, and the rapid expansion of new targeted therapies for a variety of lymphomas, both autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplantation play an important role in the management of these diseases. © 2015 by John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. |
