Abstract: |
Critically ill patients often have overlapping syndromes with varied differential diagnoses. Identifying the correct etiology is vital to ensure the best patient outcomes. Endocrinopathies may lead to syndromes that result in critical illness, such as diabetic ketoacidosis, or syndromes like adrenal insufficiency that can mimic other common reasons for ICU admission, such as sepsis. Those practicing in the ICU must develop a robust differential diagnosis and understand how to appropriately utilize the laboratory testing available for making an accurate diagnosis [1]. © 2025 selection and editorial matter, Anirban Hom Choudhuri and Barnali Das; individual chapters, the contributors. |
