Cartilage Cartilage can be a problematic tissue type with the curvature of the ear causing intractable planar flattening Planar flattening difficulties. The tunnel shape of the external auditory meatus Meatus further complicates processing for both Mohs surgeon and technician if a tumor tracks beyond the conchal bowl. Knowledge of ear anatomy, relaxing techniques, and staining Staining procedures are essential to successfully processing a difficult Mohs ear specimen. © The Author(s), Springer Nature witzerland AG 2024.
