Abstract: |
The nose is a common site for skin cancer on the face. Due to its central location, a skin cancer on the nose is a particular cosmetic concern for patients undergoing Mohs surgery. For Mohs technicians, processing nasal specimens can be challenging because of the contours of the nose and the texture of the tissue, which is typically stiff and sebaceous Sebaceous tissue . There is also potential for the skin cancer lesion to invade into the nasal cavity Nasal cavity , with the Mohs specimen containing full thickness tissue of skin, muscle, cartilage, and mucosa. Due to these concerns, this anatomically varied and cosmetically sensitive area demands meticulous processing and a broad range of mastered techniques. © The Author(s), Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.
