Article/Chapter Title: | Celiac plexus block |
Abstract: | In 1914, Kappis and his colleagues published their study on intraoperative splanchnic and celiac plexus blockade, using a percutaneous technique which remained the gold standard to date. Ever since, the technique has had various modifications. Several imaging modalities including fluoroscopy, ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) have been used to improve procedural guidance, but there is still no consensus regarding the best technique. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2022, corrected publication 2022. |
