Article/Chapter Title: Introduction to the cardiac implications of radiotherapy
Abstract: Radiotherapy has long been used in the management of malignant and benign conditions alike, but only in recent decades have the long term implications of cardiac exposure been comprehensively delineated. In this chapter, we present the evolution of radiotherapy technologies, image guided targeting approaches, and patient positioning maneuvers, that have significantly reduced treatment-related morbidity, particularly as related to long term cardiac outcomes. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2021 R.
