Abstract: |
Oncoplastic techniques have been developed in recent years for the surgical management of breast cancer, allowing the resection of large volumes of breast tissue, while facilitating cosmesis and the avoidance of mastectomy. These techniques can be classified into two categories: simple and advanced. Simple oncoplastic techniques are generally used in the management of tumors, which require resection of < 25% of the total breast volume. These techniques involve primary closure of the breast defect using glandular displacement. This chapter will discuss the surgical anatomy of the breast and the various types of glandular displacement techniques. © Springer International Publishing AG, part of Springer Nature 2013, 2019 |
