Title: Revealing de novo pyrimidine synthesis as a key vulnerability in brain tumors
Abstract: Brain tumors are notoriously difficult to treat. Three recent Cancer Cell articles aim to uncover novel druggable targets in IDH mutant gliomas, diffuse midline gliomas, and medulloblastomas, respectively, and show that these brain tumor types shift their metabolism to become reliant on de novo pyrimidine synthesis.
