Review Title: Esophagectomy for end-stage achalasia
Abstract: Esophagectomy for achalasia is reserved for patients with end-stage disease for whom prior treatment has failed. Esophagectomy can be performed safely through a variety of techniques. Conduit options include stomach, colon, and small intestine. There are many potential complications following esophagectomy. Outcomes of esophagectomy for achalasia are good when performed in experienced surgical centers. © 2022, The Author(s) under exclusive licence to Société Internationale de Chirurgie.
