Article Title: On the strategies and priorities for sequencing the human genome: A personal view
Abstract: I suggest that the complete sequencing of the human genome is likely to become a self-supporting commercial enterprise. Those involved in basic research on human genetics should begin to make use of the new sequencing technology to approach questions such as that of the degree and nature of DNA sequence variation in humans and its relationship to heritable disease: the 'population approach' to genome sequencing. © 1987.
