Abstract: In this issue of Cancer Cell, Wheeler et al. report that mechanisms of exceptional response to cancer treatment can be grouped into four broad categories: dysregulated intracellular signaling pathways, altered DNA damage response, tumor microenvironment or immune engagement, and alterations associated with a favorable prognosis. © 2020 Elsevier Inc.
