Article/Chapter Title: Paraneoplastic glomerulonephritis
Abstract: Paraneoplastic glomerulopathy is a rare but recognized complication of neoplastic disease. A wide variety of glomerular lesions have been described. Among the solid malignancies, the most common glomerulopathies are minimal change disease, immunoglobulin A nephropathy, membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis and focal segmental glomerulonephritis. In general, proteinuria on routine urinalysis is the usual finding, which brings these patients to the attention of a nephrologist. Because of a lack of a definitive human or animal model for paraneoplastic glomerulopathy, its pathogenetic mechanisms has yet to be fully defined. © 2020 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
