| Abstract: | Significant advances in head and neck oncology are reviewed in this article. Tumour biology and pathology are outlined in some detail. Multidisciplinary management is emphasised. Conservatism in surgical treatment and the roles of radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other modalities are discussed. The alteration in the natural history of head and neck cancers with effective local and regional control is mentioned. |
