Abstract: This article discusses the broad topic of thyroid cancer, with a focus on giving the reader an understanding of the basis for surgical decision making. The reader will gain an understanding of the embryology, anatomy, and various cancer pathologies than can affect the thyroid gland. The reader will also be exposed to clinical correlations that greatly assist in management of these cancers.
