Article Title: An update on randomized clinical trials in melanoma
Abstract: Despite many advances in the treatment of melanoma, it still continues to be a disease that affects many people. Fortunately, there have been a multitude of randomized trials that have refined the treatment of this prevalent disease. From 1975 to 2000, there were 154 prospective randomized trials on the treatment of local, regional, and metastatic melanoma. From 2001 to now, additional randomized trials have focused on the role of surgery, adjuvants to surgery, and treatment of metastatic disease. The results of the practice-changing trials are summarized in this review. © 2017 Elsevier Inc.
