Title: Tumor protection and autoimmunity resulting from immunization with a melanosomal antigen xenogeneic DNA and cytokines
Conference Title: 10th International Congress of Immunology
Abstract: We have shown that mice immunized intradermally with human gp75 cDNA by particle bombardment can elicit a humoral immune response. These antibodies are capable of recognizing self gp75 not simply by cross reacting but by breaking tolerance. The antibodies confer protection against subsequent syngeneic tumor challenges. Autoimmune depigmentation as a consequence of xenogeneic DNA immunzation was also observed.
