Article/Chapter Title: | The therapist group: A transformational process |
Abstract: | (from the chapter) The therapists of the Project for Mothers, Infants, and Young Children of September 11, 2001 have continued to meet every other week in a mutually supportive two-hour peer-supervision group since the inception of the Project. The development of a trusting and nurturing therapist group form has proven to be the most important factor in our ability to do this work with the mothers and children. As we grew to know and trust each other more, and to talk deeply about the experiences of the families we are working with, we became able to understand how our own histories influenced our investment in this Project. This article describes our credo and explores our histories in the context of the Project. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved). |
