Abstract: |
Patients with extraocular retinoblastoma have historically had a poor prognosis, but recently significant improvements in survival have been reported. In this chapter, we will review data indicating that the majority of patients with regional extraocular disease can be successfully treated with conventional chemotherapy and external beam radiation therapy and that patients with distant metastatic disease appear to benefit from the addition of high-dose chemotherapy with stem cell rescue. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2015.
