Abstract: |
(from the chapter) This chapter focuses on the sacred spiral. With events and relationships in life, while there is progression and growth, there is seldom a clearly drawn movement from Point A to Point B. Thus, it makes sense to think of life in terms of an upward spiral, a series of cycles. Individuals move along loop to loop through a variety of daily experiences ranging from the mundane to the momentous. Another element of the spiral paradigm is the sense that core issues don't change much through the years of a lifetime. Core issues and values may look different depending on the angle at which they are viewed depending on the current place on the spiral. Life is not so much a matter of moving onward through these issues once and for all, but rather of noticing how they evolve and change appearance and texture with age and experience.
