Article Title: Managing the oncology wound: Reconstructive issues in breast cancer
Abstract: Oncology wounds are related to both the patient's cancer and the treatment of the cancer. Patients who have oncology wounds suffer from significantly impaired wound healing. Treating these patients and their wounds successfully requires overcoming their healing impairment. Reconstructive surgeons are increasingly playing a role in oncologic wound management, particularly among breast cancer patients. Breast reconstruction is perhaps the best contemporary model of conquering healing impairment in cancer to successfully restore the patient.
