Title: Label-free enrichment of cancer cells using negative selection (depletion) of wbcs with elastomeric negative acoustic contrast particles and acoustophoresis

Abstract: In an effort to bioengineer elastomeric particles (EPs), with negative acoustic contrast factor, to capture cells, we have successfully functionalized EPs with anti-human CD45 antibodies that enable capturing of WBCs from human RBC lysed blood samples. We demonstrate that the negative selection of WBCs with EPs and acoustophoresis can be employed to reduce WBC contamination while enriching label-free prostate cancer cells (DU145) within the central fraction of our acoustophoresis chip. © 14CBMS.
