Article Title: Symptom assessment and management
Abstract: This article reviewed several scientifically valid assessment tools and practical management guidelines for some of the common symptoms encountered by neurologists in practice. Strategies for the management of pain, nausea, vomiting, and dyspnea, were provided. The role of the neurologist as a provider of end of life care is reviewed. Further research in symptom assessment and management is needed to better define symptom prevalence, useful measurement tools, and to optimize patient care at all stages of neurologic disease.
