Abstract: |
An old saying has it that it takes a village to raise a child. As we grow older and learn, we become our villages; each with its own viewpoints that collectively encompass and shape the community morals. As we embark in the community life, we inevitably become in part the people that others need us to be, whether our efforts are not supported or even strenuously opposed. The challenges of living in a village define the core fundamental issues enabling development and resolution for a healthy and happy life. The same is true that it takes a village to discover and develop a drug. The difference in the latter case is that we never become our villages but merely guests of leisure, called upon in desperation and ignored during the blooming seasons. © 2014 by John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
