Article Title: Resection replantation of the arm for sarcoma: An alternative to amputation
Abstract: Resection-replantation for primary malignant tumors of the arm as an alternative to forequarter amputation first was reported in 1995. Segmental resection of the upper arm and replantation of the distal segment to the proximal humerus as an alternative to shoulder disarticulation for a large tumor of the humerus is reported. This procedure provides the patient with an aesthetically acceptable single-segment arm, which is useful for activities of daily living and recreation. There has been no local recurrence or metastasis at 5 years followup.
