Article Title: Infections in returning travelers
Abstract: The spectrum of travel-related infections, includes illnesses that might be absent or uncommon in the patient's country of origin and thus require a cautious and geographically specific evaluation for accurate diagnosis. Pretravel counseling, drug prophylaxis, and vaccination are important preventive strategies. Emerging global threats, changing disease patterns, and recent developments in the management of common illnesses such as malaria and traveler's diarrhea need to be considered in ill patients with a recent travel history.
