Article/Chapter Title: Management of common complications after radical cystectomy, lymph node dissection, and urinary diversion
Abstract: Radical cystectomy with urinary diversion is the gold standard treatment for muscle-invasive bladder cancer. However, the morbidity remains high related to the extensive surgery as well as the comorbid population. Postoperative complications can occur in almost every organ system, and can have significant effects on the quality of life for both the patient and their caregiver. We present here a review of the common complications seen after cystectomy and urinary diversion as well as discussion regarding their management and prevention. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2021.
