Abstract: | Ivor Lewis esophagectomy (esophagectomy via right chest and abdominal approach) is indicated for resection of carcinomas of the distal esophagus and gastroesophageal junction. This chapter describes the laparoscopic and thoracoscopic approaches to this procedure. It includes information on indications, preoperative preparation, pitfalls and danger points, documentation, and postoperative care.
