Abstract: |
We are in the midst of a revolution in pathology. The centuries-old microscope is slowly but surely being replaced by digital pathology, especially when it comes to pathology education. Medical schools, pathology residency training programs, veterinary pathology, and pathology professional organizations have all embraced digital pathology in the field of education. This has become possible not only because of the numerous advantages of digital slides compared to glass slides for education but also because of the value that comes from technological tools that allow collaborations, annotations, screen sharing, slide comparisons, integration of other medical data like radiology DICOM images, and other clinical metadata. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2022. |
