Title: Reducing psychosocial stress in patients receiving radiation therapy
Abstract: The article presents the discussion on radiation therapists delivering reproducible treatments by carefully positioning and immobilizing patients. Topics include suffering from psychosocial stress such as claustrophobia or general anxiety, maintaining position during a simulation session or treatment being challenging; and effective communication, proactive care, empathy, and acknowledgment being the techniques for reducing patient anxiety.
