Article Title: The genetics of body scent
Abstract: Genes of the highly polymorphic H-2 major histocompatibility complex impart to each mouse a scent that is characteristic of its H-2 haplotype. Recognition of these individual odors affects mate choice and other aspects of reproduction. Other parts of the genome also contribute to genetically determined individuality of body scent. © 1987.
