| Abstract: | Breast cancer continues to be a major public health problem and a source of controversy. Significant advances in the diagnosis and treatment of the disease have been made during the past decade. In this article, we review some of these advances and describe our view on the current state of the art regarding the local-regional treatment of the disease. In particular, we review the data supporting the role of breast-conserving treatment of early breast cancer. |
