Article Title: A safe technique for the placement of implantable vascular access devices in patients with thrombocytopenia
Abstract: This further modification of the Seldinger technique is offered as a safe and effective means of central venous access for placement of implantable infusion devices. It is especially useful in patients with severe thrombocytopenia, even when the cephalic vein is not large enough to accept the catheter directly.
