Article Title: | Clinical implications of novel mutations in epigenetic modifiers in AML |
Abstract: | Increased understanding of the molecular genetics of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) has uncovered several mutations in genes with a role in the epigenetic regulation of gene transcription, including mutations in TET2, IDH1, IDH2, and DNMT3a. This article reviews recent studies investigating the clinical importance of these mutations in AML, and specifically discusses the efficacy of molecular analysis for these mutations in refining prognosis in AML and informing therapeutic management of patients with AML. © 2011 Elsevier Inc. |
