Conference Title: | Conference on Emergency Respiratory Care |
Abstract: | The appropriate management of patients with airway pathology represents a complex interaction among patient-specific factors, the clinical setting, and the knowledge and actions of the practitioner. Decisions must be made quickly, alternative approaches reviewed, and a plan of action undertaken in rapid sequence. Skill and experience (as well as ability to perform a variety of technical activities) are essential. This review serves only to outline those issues that must be considered and to provide a framework in order to develop the appropriate approach to the management of these extremely difficult problems. |
