Article Title: Experimental antitumor activity of acridone alkaloids, acronycine and glyfoline
Abstract: Experimenta antitumor activity, chemical synthesis and structure-activity relationships of naturally occurring acridone alkaloids, acronycine, glyfoline and their congeners, are reviewed. Both acronycine and glyfoline exhibit a broad antitumor spectrum against leukemia and murine tumors. Glyfoline are one-third as toxic and more than twice as effective as acronycine against Lewis lung, EO7713, and B16 melanoma solid tumors in mice. Long term survival (cure) are achieved with glyfoline in some of all three solid tumors tested in mice.
